knowplace is a family of sites with participants and sites all over the globe. We exist to support teachers, groups and organizations to develop their own online courses and learning communities on an international scale. knowplace supports individuals and organizations as they transfer what they do to the online environment through learning, sharing and building together in online learning communities. But we do it entirely online!
We work virtually, rarely face-to-face. We operate in a team environment where epeers and ementors, which we call knowmates, constantly shift roles using a sense of humour to provide prompt professional help. Our philosophy is that to be successful in the online world, you need to learn how to continuously learn and share. Relationships are first, information is second. Our network of communities is a vibrant place for sharing and learning together. It’s exciting! The synergy among people keeps them going.

Exploring and Using knowplace
The knowplace Family of Sites provides learning opportunities for you to discover how to successfully transfer what you do to the online world.
Through our communities we offer short skill building workshops, free and open online weekends; discussions, courses and programs through our public/private partnerships such as Capilano University, Virtual School Society, BC Centre for Disease Control, PSO Knowledge Centre; and host online conferences like the First Canadian MoodleMoot in 2007 and knowTIPS.
Through the knowplace Family of Sites we offer short skill building workshops, free and open online weekends, discussions, courses and programs through partnerships with post secondary institutions and other educational and private organizations dedicated to learning and sharing online. In each site, we walk our talk! Our standards are high. We learn and share together online, mentor newcomers, and guide best online practices. Our philosophy is we believe in relationship first, information second, agree that mistakes are our friends and keep our sense of humour. But we are much more than tools! We use the knowWAY to teach, guide and mentor you to work successfully online.
